THE DOUBLE EAGLE INVITATIONAL PRO-AM

The 2023 Double Eagle Invitational Pro-Am was played under warm, sunny skies in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this past November 14 – 19th. A field of 260 golfers and over 100 guests joined us in carrying on the tradition that began in 1992. Once again, the competition was fierce, and the comradery was evident throughout the week. The Grieve Family Winery known as the Double Eagle Wine Team poured their fabulous wines all week, the after-golf parties were lively, and the Championship All Star Band was amazing as always. And whether participants left with championship trophies or not, the experience and enjoyment was at an all-time high!

Congratulations to our 2023 Professional Champion, Dustin White. Dustin sprinted out of the box the final round and after being defeated by Sean McCarty on last year’s dramatic playoff, his closing 65 left no doubt who was the Champion this year, defeating our 2014 Champion, Micah Rudosky by three shots. Dustin is the golf coach at Washington State and we wish him all the best as his team competes throughout the country in 2024, and to welcoming him back as our defending champion next year.

Congratulations also to our 2023 Double Eagle Invitational Pro-Am Team Champions led by professional Connie DeMattia. Connie is the PGA Director of Instruction for Cantigny Golf in Wheaton, Illinios, and has been a participant in this event 19 times. His amateur partners are also seasoned veterans of this event. With number of years participating noted by their names: Bob DeMattia (5), Greg Denham (14), Jeff Eaton (14), and Evan Olson (9) – Team DeMattia held off fast the fast-charging team led by professional Gordon Vietmeier to win the Team Championship to two shots. Gordon was participating in his 10th event with us after taking an 11-year hiatus.
